Post-extraction socket, healing or regeneration? Therapeutics and use of PRGF-ENDORET®

In this book, we present a biological approach to the treatment of the post-extraction or post-explantation socket, based on the use of platelet-derived growth factors, aimed at achieving complete regeneration of the post-extraction bed in a simple and predictable manner.

Description

Following tooth extraction, a series of unavoidable events occurs in the crestal bone of the socket, ultimately leading to healing with a greater or lesser degree of bone resorption. Various biomaterial-based procedures have therefore been developed to prevent socket collapse and promote complete socket regeneration.

In this book, we present a biological approach to the management of the post-extraction socket, based on the use of platelet-derived growth factors to achieve complete regeneration of the post-extraction or post-explantation site in a simple and predictable manner. We also address immediate implants from an innovative perspective, according to the specific characteristics of the socket and the implant to be used, developing treatment algorithms for each of the clinical situations that may be encountered. All of this is illustrated with clinical cases and explanatory videos that make the experience more enriching.
